Lay Counselor Interest Form
Our lay counsellor training program prepares dedicated individuals to provide specialised support within our Joshua and Esther Group interventions for family violence perpetrators. This comprehensive training equips volunteers with evidence-based therapeutic techniques, safety protocols, and the skills needed to facilitate accountability and behavioural change in a structured, professional environment.
Participants will learn to guide individuals through the challenging process of taking responsibility for their actions while developing healthier communication patterns, emotional regulation strategies, and conflict resolution skills. The training emphasises creating safe spaces for genuine transformation while maintaining the safety and well-being of families and communities as the top priority. By joining our lay counsellor team, you'll play a vital role in breaking cycles of violence and supporting lasting positive change in participants' lives and relationships.
